CONFIRMED: Han So Hee and Ryu Joon Yeol are in a relationship (2024)

It's official!

Today, March 16, 2024, both Korean stars Han So Hee and Ryu Joon Yeol, confirmed their relationship.

The Gyeongseong Creature lead actress first made the announcement on her personal blog through a lengthy post.

She addressed rumors surrounding the two of them, in the months leading to their confirmation, including her controversial Instagram story posted in response to Joon Yeol's ex-girlfriend, former Girl's Day member Lee Hyeri.

A piece of So Hee's admission stated that she will personally apologize to Hyeri for the damage caused by her "lame Instagram story."

HAN SO HEE'S OFFICIAL STATEMENT

So Hee wrote to her fans: "Hello everyone, I know that my story over the past two days has left many of you shocked and hurt.

"Although announcing it through the media is considered more appropriate, from my understanding, I find that as a one-sided announcement so I'm writing to make it less hurtful to my fans, whom I value so much.

"First of all, we are in a relationship with good feelings but please take the word 'transit' out. It's true that we met at his photo exhibition, but it was through my friend who is a photographer, and I stopped by to say hello as I heard that we might be working together on the same project.

"Secondly, we found we were into each other at the beginning of 2024, and I was told he became single in early 2023 and the breakup article was published in November. Based on this fact, I continued to keep my feelings and the relationship.

"Thirdly, regarding my lame Instagram story. Yes, it was cringey and lame. I should have kept my silence but I think I lost my cool for a moment and rudely acted because I had to see and hear all the rumors and stories about me against my will.

"Regarding this point, I will be personally apologizing to her and I also apologize to you all for having to witness me being unwise with my behavior. I admit that my emotions took over my reasoning, and thus it was entirely on me. So I apologize.

"Fourth, of course, there will be articles regarding this, but the press coverage does not represent all of my thoughts and feelings and the blog is the only way to communicate with you all, so I apologize for the sudden update.

"I just wanted to apologize over and over to my fans who would have felt upset and couldn't sleep well over the past couple of days. I have always half-jokingly communicated but the fact that I still had you worry when I'm pushing thirty makes me think I have a long way to go.

"But the fact that I can still communicate my thoughts with you in a space like this makes me feel grateful. I'm having a lot of conflicting feelings.

"Lately, I feel that the thought I only have to put out my best self is probably hurting me more than it's helping me.

"Living a life that is more about the outcome than the process has made me reflect on whether or not I'm missing out on the process at the moment. I'm pretty confident that you guys love me for more than just a few pictures and videos.

"If I come across as cocky and arrogant and you see that in me, even if I claim that I'm not, then I may already have some of those bad traits in me.

"I think I'm at a point where I should admit that I've changed and go back to where I came from. And find what I truly wanted to do and what made me genuinely happy.

"Maybe going on a vacation after 2 years made me lose my marbles, but as I said earlier, please criticize constructively by my side.

"It hurts my heart to think of my fans who must be worried about me during this time. But when you're in the wrong, you should get disciplined.

"Thank you for believing in me that I will become a better person and keep supporting me. I'm sorry, but at the same time, I want to be better. Maybe I'm just greedy but I will become more mature the next time I come to update you.

"Again, I apologize for writing such a depressing post on the blog I barely update a couple of times every year. It's the morning. Have a good breakfast. Cheers."

RYU JOON YEOL'S CONFIRMATION

Hours after So Hee's public post, Joon Yeol's management, C-Jes Studios, also issued its official statement on behalf of the actor.

In it, the agency reminds that it will pursue legal recourse against any harmful defamation or derogatory content aimed at Joon Yeol.

The statement reads in full: "Hello, this is C-Jes Studios.

"We are writing to update you on the facts as there were speculative articles about Ryu Joon Yeol's private life following the Hawaii sighting yesterday.

"Ryu Joon Yeol has been dating Han So Hee since the beginning of this year, after confirming mutual positive feelings. Ryu Joon Yeol got to know Han So Hee after his breakup and he only recently confirmed his feelings for her.

"We asked to respect his privacy because he was spotted on his trip against his will. We would like to ask for your understanding once again because his personal rights have been seriously violated with unnecessary misunderstandings and speculations over the past couple of days just because we did not confirm his relationship status.

"In the future, we will not respond to every single request to reveal and confirm our actors' personal lives in detail to protect their rights at the minimum. Please understand.

"We will also take strong legal action against malicious slanders and insulting posts directed at our actors through our legal representatives for defamation of character, insult, and violation of personality rights."
